Lost Items
Virden Elementary, Middle & High School have
accumulated a large number of lost and found items. These items will be
given to charity after June 5th if not claimed.
NHS Students win 1st place in Blood
Drive
NHS students were awarded first place
in the middle-sized school category for the fourth year in a row with 408
donations and a 225.99 percent participation rating. The high school in each
category with the highest percentage of blood donations received a $1,000
scholarship to be awarded to graduating seniors.
Jan Marsaglia honored as Blood Drive
Coordinator for
NHS advisor Mrs. Jan Marsaglia
also received a community service award from the Central Illinois Community
Blood Center for nine years of dedicated service as the blood drive
coordinator, including four consecutive championships in the Springfield
Clinic High School Blood Challenge
2009-2010 Sport Physicals
The office of Dr Chapa will have
sports physicals on Friday July 13 or Friday July 20 from 1-3 pm at a cost
of $25. Freshman physicals may count as sports physicals but sports
physicals will NOT count as freshman physical. Physicals must be on file
with the high school office before the first practice with no exceptions.
Appointments NOT on July 13 or July 20 will cost $35.

The Virden Sports Boosters are looking
for anyone interested in becoming a Sports Booster member or helpful
volunteers. The Sports Boosters have a lot of new things happening this
coming year and would love to have more members. A few of the latest
accomplishments are-Helped to buy new lockers for the boy's locker room,
Paying for several sports banquets, Painting the bleachers which is still
in progress and more help is needed. Please call 341-5195 or 414-3066 for
