During the summer of 2004, 60 young leaders from Illinois enjoyed an expense-paid trip to Washington, DC to learn about cooperatives and our government. Rural Electric Convenience Cooperative sponsored two students and students from your school have a chance to go to Washington in 2005.

Two area high school juniors will be selected again this year for the Rural Electric Youth to Washington program. Up to ten students will be selected as finalists and invited by RECC to the 2005 Illinois Rural Electric Youth Day program in Springfield on April 13, touring the state Capitol and other historic sites and meeting with their state legislators. From the ten finalists, two will be selected to go to Washington on June 17-24.
