The YoungARTS Schalarship 10-01-07 The YoungARTS program gives students opportunities to express their artistic abilities through Cinematic Arts, Dance, Jazz, Music, Photography, Theater, Visual Arts, Voice, and Writing. YoungARTS 2008 requires that you be a high school senior in the 2007-2008 school y ear or if you have already graduated you must be 17 or 18 years oldon December 1, 2007 Juniors are not eligible. The Acorn Scholarship 10-05-07 The Acorn Equality Fund provides financial support for the advancement of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) people and their allies in downstate Illinois. Lincoln Land Special Admissions Scholarship

(For students starting LLCC Spring or Summer 2008)

ASAP ! The limited number of Special Admissions Scholarships are available to high school students attending LLCC Spring or Summer 2008. Awards are based on the date the application is received. Early applicants will receive priority. The limited number of scholarships available are awarded on a continuous basis from the applicable term open registration date. Scholarships are awarded until they are gone or the start of the term.  Each scholarship will pay the in-district tuition rate for up to four credit hours or $288. Lincolnland Legends 12-03-07 Lincolnland Legends, a scholarship program now in its third year, is available to any junior or senior who has the ability to write an essay and the desire to win a college scholarship. This year's essay gives students the opportunity to honor a business and community leader who has made an impression upon the student and has made a significant difference in their community. Any current Illinois high school junior or senior may nominate by essay someone for special recognition. Nominees must be still living and must have been born in, have lived in, or currently live in the students Congressional District in Illinois. Toyota Community Scholars 12-14-07 Toyota Community Scholars 100 scholarships valued at $10,000-$20,000.  The scholarship is based on your impact on your community and academic performance. National Wild Turkey Federation's Academic Scholarship

 

12-15-07 The South Central Turkey Chapter will be offering a $500 scholarship for a Macoupin County High School Senior who submits an application with a postmark date on or before December 15, 2007. Students must have a 3.0 gpa, be pursuing a degree at at an accredited institution of higher education, support the preservation of hunting and actively participate in hunting, be active in school activities and in community involvement. Applicants must submit an essay and autobiography exhibiting dedication to conservation, along with three letters of recommendation. AXA Achievement Scholarship 12-15-07 AXA Foundation, in association with U.S. News & World Report, presents the AXA Achievement Scholarship. The AXA Foundation with be offering $10,000 national scholarships to 52 students (one in each state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico). $15,000 additional scholarships will be offered to 10 national recipients. The national scholarship winners will also be offered internships at AXA offices and a laptop for college. Winners are students who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrate drive, determination and ability to succeed in college and who have respect for self, family, and community.

Young Achievers Gateway East 12-15-07 Outstanding students in grates 5-10 will be recognized as Gateway East Young Achievers. Must be resident of Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Montgomery, Monroe, Randolph or St Clair County. Twelve Gateway East  Young Achievers will receive medallions and $50 in recognition of special accomplishments. Two will be honored as Young Achievers of the Year and will receive $1,000 savings bonds and will be nominated for international recognition by International Leadership Network. 800-693-4384
Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship 01-01-08 A total of seven $1,250 scholarships are offered for family members or rural electric consumers, directors and employees starting college next fall. Four scholarships will go to sons or daughters of Illinois electric cooperative members and a fifth one will go to the son or daughter of an electric cooperative employee or director. A sixth and seventh scholarship will be reserved for use at a two-year Illinois community college and may go to the son or daughter of a co-op member, employee, or director. Applicants must be a high school senior now, and planning to attend full-time at any two-year or four-year accredited college or university in Illinois. The scholarships are for one year and are not renewable. Application forms are available from the RECC office in Auburn or from Mrs. Hampton

CBAI Foundation for Community Banking 2008 Annual Scholarship Program Guidelines

 

01-11-08 The CBAI Foundation for Community Banking provided $16,500 in scholarship funds for top high school senior essays statewide. You could win up to $4,000 for higher education and your school could earn up to $500. Scholarships will be awarded in addition to any other grants or awards the student may receive and will be made directly tot he winner.  Fist place scholarship will be $1,000 per year for up to four years of higher education with up to 12 additional awards of $1,000 each. A $500 check will be resented to the winning student's school. Non-monetary "Honorable Mentions" may also be awarded.  For more information please contact Mrs. Hampton
ENF Legacy Award $1,000 Scholarship 01-11-08 $1,000 scholarship is available to students who are a relative of an Elks member. Check the website for an application and eligibility requirements.

  McKelvey Foundation Scholarships for Young Entrepreneurs 01-15-08

The McKelvey Foundation provides scholarships to young entrepreneurial-minded students who have started their own business and would like to attend college. To qualify you must: own your own business for at least one year, have at least 1 paid employee, have sales revenue,  graduate from high school in the spring of 2008, and attend any college within the 50 United States. 100 scholarships will be awarded in 2008.

Illinois Society of Professional Engineers St. Clair Chapter

 

2-8-08 Applicants for the ISPE (St. Clair Chapter) must attend an engineering program at an Illinois or Missouri college/university that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC-ABET). Several scholarships will be given.  Also, one scholarship is reserved for a student that will be attending an engineering program at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. The applicant will be disqualified if the school is not EAC-ABED accredited. An Application Form is available from Mrs. Hampton or see the web address hyperlinked on the left. CBAI Foundation for Community Banking 2-4-08 The CBAI Foundation for Community Banking provides scholarship funds for top high school senior essays statewide. The scholarship awards help deserving students highlight the importance of community banking to the local economy. The essay theme is: What sets community banks apart from the large banks?  Judges will be looking for an understanding of what a community bank is and its role in the local economy, but no reference should be made to any specific bank, banker, nor city. Open to Illinois high school seniors who are sponsored by CBAI member bank, it is not based on financial need or specifics in plans for higher education. relatives of bank employees are ineligible. The essay must not exceed two pages of typewritten copy, double spaced on one side of each page. Scholarships may be awarded for $1,000 per year up to four years of higher education with up to 12 additional awards of $1,000 each, depending on the quality of entries. National Co-Op Scholarship Program 2-15-08 High school graduates must have a GPA of 3.5 (B+) or better and must complete the National Co-Op Scholarship Program application including a typed one-page essay describing why you have chosen to pursue a college cooperative education program. The National Commission for Cooperative Education encourages minority and female students as well as students interested in science, mathematics, engineering and technology (SMET) to apply for this merit co-op scholarship. The Selma J. Hartke Community Foundation 2-29-08 The Selma J. Hartke Community Foundation is pleased to once again offer the Selma J. Hartke Scholarships. Last year, through the efforts, the foundation was pleased to receive 89 applications. Prior to scheduling interviews, we viewed the applications to determine whether the applicants fell within Foundations financial need criteria. Henry Bunn Memorial Scholarship 3-01-08 The Henry Bunn Memorial Scholarship is to assist worthy high school students residing in Sangamon County who need financial assistance in order to be able to attend college. Recipients must exhibit high moral character, industry and good study habits. Their high school record and qualifications must be superior, indicating the potential for successful college work. They further must demonstrate a need for financial assistance beyond reasonable levels of parent and self-help. This is a one-time award for graduating seniors. Polly W Roesch Vocal Music Scholarship 3-01-08 The award is $1,500 and is renewable for the entire 4-year college term. For interested vocal music majors, they must successfully pass an audition for receipt of the Polly W. Roesch Vocal Music Scholarship. Skelton Scholarship 3-01-08 Applications must be directed to  "Heather A. Smith" with JPMorgan at the address for this scholarship. Open to any student who is a high school graduate and a resident of Sangamon county, the scholarship funds are available to high school graduates as well as students as well as students already attending college or another professional school. Qualifications are based principally on economic hardship but academic achievement shall also be considered. Springfield Area Home Builders Association's Robert E. von Behren Memorial Scholarship 3-15-08 This 600 dollar scholarship is available to recipients of Association's "Student of the Month" Program in the current year or past three years. Must be enrolled in a building trades or architectural program at a local high school, community college, technical school, 2-year or 4-year college or university, or graduate school or be working toward a designation or certification within the building trades related field. Crime Stoppers Scholarship

 

04-04-08 The Macoupin and Montgomery Counties Crime Stoppers will be awarding six scholarships between Macoupin and Montgomery County students wishing to pursue higher education. Helen and June Hamilton Scholarship 4-1-08 This scholarship provides loans for the furtherance of the higher education of high school graduates who are residents of Sangamon County, Illinois, between the ages of 16 and 25 years old . See Mrs. Hampton for more information.

2008 General Assembly Scholarship 4-14-08 Must be a Resident of the 100th district. Must be accepted at a state university as a full time student. Must have activity in public and civic affairs. You must have relative need among applicants. See Mrs. Hampton for more information.
