| Congressman John
Shimkus (R Illinois-19) is inviting high school juniors throughout his
district to apply to be a House of Representatives page in Washington, DC
next semester. Pages act as messengers and assist in the operation of the
house. To be qualified to serve as a page from the 19th Congressional
District, an applicant must be a high school junior, a US citizen who
resides in the district and at least 16 years of age but not yet 18 at the
start of the semester which runs from Jan 26 through June 5, 2009.
Applicants ust have a cumulative grade-point average of "B" (3.0 on a 4.0
scale) or better in the five major subjects (English, science, mathematics,
social studies, and foreign language). Completed applications must be
returned to Shimkus' office no later than Oct 27, 2008. Applications are
