The Virden Middle School-High School Media Center is open from 7:45 am through 3:45 pm daily, Monday through Thursday, and through 3 pm on Friday. There students may work on projects involving both print and technological mediums. The media center contains over 10,000 volumes of print, DVD and VHS materials plus it has an extensive set of periodicals both current and past issues. The media center manages four computer labs plus a mini-lab of 6 computers in a corner of the room. It also manages the checkout of equipment used by students and faculty alike The media specialist is an active member of the Lewis & Clark Library System, the Illinois School Library Media Association, and ICE or Illinois Computer Educators. |
