Virden Middle School Earns Academic Improvement Award!

According to State Superintendent of Education Dr. Christopher A Koch of the Illinois State Board of Education, states that, "Working together, students, educators, and families at Virden Middle School, Virden Community Unit School District 4 have earned a 2007 Academic Improvement Award for Exemplary Gains in Performance on the Illinois Learning Standards." To earn the Academic Improvement Award, a school must have made significant academic improvement by  (1) showing an improvement of at least 7.5 points in state tests scores in both reading and mathematics between 2006 and 2007 or (2) showing an improvement of at least 15 points in state test scores in both reading and mathematics between 2005 and 2007 and (3) show an upward trend in state tests results.
