Here is the body of the document. All
text will be left adjusted and this internal table will be centered
in the document
Title
Titles will be bolded in arial, 10 pt
font. If there is a news article it will be single spaced in arial
10 pt. Between news articles there will be one blank line to make it
easier to read. Hyperlinks will all be in purple. The image with hot
links will appear on the top of each page for consistent navigation.
Individual Page Requirements
Each individual page will have the top
image with navigation tools. All titles will be bolded in arial, 10
pt font. All text will be in arial, 10 pt font, no bolding. Italics
will be used sparingly.
The lower left of each page will contain
the words "Date Last Updated:" and the automatic date update will be
inserted so the date will automatically update when it is saved. The
lower right will contain "Page maintained by:" and a first name
only, for example: Page maintained by: Allen. On the next line,
underneath "Date Last Updated" will be the words: "Contact the Web
Master for this Page" and those words will be hyperlinked to the
email address of
jlangellier@virdenschools.com for all elementary pages, and for
all other pages the email address is
mwempen@virdenschools.com.
For each page, the subject line will be the name of the web page (LibraryLinks,
District, etc.) Web Club Members are expected to build/design all
web pages in accordance with these guidelines or their pages will
not be uploaded until the pages have been corrected to conform to
board policy.
Pages Will Not Contain:
1. Student last names
2. Student email addresses
3. Student telephone numbers or personal
information
4. Personal information regarding any
staff member other than their assigned duties, the building
telephone, fax, or individual's email address. (All email addresses
are set to be a standard first initial and last name @virdenschools.com,
for example Mrs. Wempen's email address is
mwempen@virdenschools.com.)
Images
Images placed on the web pages will
directly relate to the school district. No images will be allowed of
students whose parents have refused to allow the district to publish
their student(s) photos on the internet. All backgrounds will be
consistent and will not contain images.
Pages from the Unit Office or at Staff
Member's Request
Any page from the Unit Office shall be
uploaded as a PDF file and hyperlinked to open in a separate,
distinct window from the page from which it was hyperlinked. Mrs.
Wempen can convert any document to a PDF file from her computer or
from her home computer.
Board Policy
All of these guidelines are in
accordance with the recently adopted (May, 2007) policy of the
Virden CUSD #4 School Board. Any pages that do not conform to these
guidelines will not be hyperlinked to the district web site.
